You can choose to have your blind made to fit inside the recess of your window or to fit on the outside of the window recess.
This is the measurement you need to give us if you want your blind to fit inside the window recess. We will make a small deduction from your measurements so your blind will fit perfectly.
This is the measurement you need to give us if you want your blind to hang outside the window recess. We will make your blind exactly to these measurements.
Our roman blinds are fully lined as standard, and many have the option of blackout lining. Blackout lining can only be used on certain specified fabrics, and is available at no extra cost.
Roller blinds with a blackout backing are usually referred to as blackout blinds. Roller blinds in our colour range named Blackouts are the only roller blind fabrics available with a blackout backing. Some roman blinds are also available with a blackout lining and these are indicated in the roman blind range. Our OASIS range of vertical blinds is a blackout range of vertical fabrics.
Light will not pass through a roller blind made with blackout fabric, but light will always enter the room by coming in around the sides and over the top of the blind. Blackout blinds will help to darken a room but will not completely darken the room. A vertical blind made with blackout fabric, will always allow light to enter around the sides of each louvre.
Your roman blinds can be specified with either:
(A) A cord control system, which you wrap around a wall cleat to hold the blind at the required height.
(B) A chain control system, which automatically holds the blind at the required height.
If you are ordering a cord or chain operated blind, you will receive a safety device with your blind to enable you to keep the cord or chain controls safely away from children. You must install the safety device at a minimum height of 150cm (approx 60 inches) from the floor, to comply with European child-safety regulations.
